It never even occurred to me to try. I've got lots of fans. They all love me. I'll put a pretty one on the back anytime.

Tune the carb correctly, it won't run hot. I can't even begin to count the number of triple digit temps days that I have ridden. Even the one at 105, stuck on I95 that just kept inching it's way, took 45min to get to exit ramp, never had a chance to sit long enough to even consider pulling over let alone turn the bike off. Bike never missed a beat tho.

For me, for the expense of the fan (and btw, I do labor end too) I can't justify the 250 or so for a fan, not for 25 miles a yr of riding. If I'm gonna be that concerned about the bike over heating, I just wouldn't do the ride.
Then again, I'm not concerned about any ride I do as far as a break down. I don't carry spare parts, no ties, no duck tape, just the bikes tool kit.

The only time I put a fan on my bike is when it's like 90+ in the garage and I have to do something to it.......keeps me pretty cool

Mine has only died in traffic once, this year in Daytona during bike week. I was having the carb puking issue all day with a bunch of hard starts, killing the battery also. Had to push start it a few times but made it home eventually.
