GNR, I would rather have your sig pic than the '79 pic!!!! My best bud in High school had a '69 Road Runner with a 383/ 4 speed. If you drove around slow and easy ( which we never did?) you could get 20-22 mpg. When we took it to the drag strip it would eat 1/8 of a tank each 1/4 mile run!!!!We had to take extra gass when we went to the races!!

The new Challengers are nice too. Way too rich for my blood though.

If I were getting that kind of mileage I'd never complain... only getting 29-31 commuting miles and 35-37 highway. I think the gas here in So. Cal is garbage and contributing to my piss poor mileage too.

Even with our bad gas you should be doing a little better than that. Might need to go through the process of getting the jetting gurus here engaged in a discussion about your carb setup.

My brother (05 model) gets mid 30s around town, low to mid 40s on the highway. He lives out here too. My Strat is just below him. I loose about one or two miles per gallon compared to his roadie.

that my Roadie burns much more gas when starting-up day after day or start after stop. If I take a nice day long ride without stopping and starting my mileage is much better. Is this normal??

If you are running it and it isn't moving (Start up or at lights) then you are getting 0 mpg at that time. Getting up to speed (higher RPMs) uses more fuel than cruising at normal speeds. When these are factored in, it is detrimental to the mileage.

You want bad mileage my Dodge Ram 1500 gets 12-13 mpg my 05 with a HSR 45 get around 34-36 town and as high as 50 highway. The old law of a body at rest tends to stay at rest ya know. It takes energy to get it in motion but once it is there is takes less to keep it in motion.
