Sissy bar bag sets 11 Months, 1 Week ago
A buddy is planning a nice trip and I'd like to get a good set of sissy bar bags before leaving. I've got the Silverado version so having studs on the bags would be a plus - gotta look good too ya know
I like the looks of the two piece square units (like the SB3 with studs from Jafrum.com) but I'm a little worried about their water resistance - not that I plan to ride in rain but gotta plan for the worst.

So I was curious if anyone had recommendations for a good set of sissy bar bags. Thanks in advance.

I bought a bag from Leather-Up, never used it.Didn't care for it Didn't hold it's shape, didn't look like it'd be weather resistent/proof. It just looked cheap. I'm using Saddleman & very happy w/ them I learned the hard way. Buy cheap, get cheap
Nice '04. I've got the same yr/model. The beach sand/tan w/ the seat trim is very cool

These are cool. A bit on the spendy side, but very cool.

Preacher - do you or someone you know own one of these from LeatherUp? Any stories plus/minus?

Ironman - is that the Saddleman Desperado Express on the back of yours? How waterproof is it? One review I read on the Desperado is that it sagged over time and they needed to cut some plexiglass for the bottom to reinforce it - comments on yours? Thanks for the comments on the bike - I like it too!

yep, I have the Desperado & just bought the (?) #3500 studded. Wife needs more room for the Iowa M&G (lol)
I've had the Desperado for about 2yrs. Overall very happy w/ it. Many have asked if it's OEM, it matches up that well. Waterproof wise, it's alright. In a heavy down pour, I throw a garbage bag over it. End of problem. The bottom is "settling in " alittle. I could cut a board & put it in the bottom, but ready have'nt felt the need.Holds enough for one, alittle light for 2

I had a touring bag I used on my Goldwing for 8 yrs and never had a problem with it. My brother in law has a windshield bag just like the one I have on his 2009 Ultra Classic and it looks like new, that was why I bought one just like it. Mine has been on the bike since I purchased it last fall and sits in the sun at work but is garage kept. They are not leather but worth what was paid for it and I would buy one again. Also have a friend who has saddle bags that are about 3-4 yrs old and still look great. All of it is Xelement brand and while not top of the line very well worth what we paid for them. Only problem I ever had was a latch that came loose on the touring bag a few yrs back but it was a 2 minutes fix with a pair of needle nose pliers to crimp the pieces back in place.

Your experience may not be the same.
