A specific torque it gets tightened to,.....twice. You torque it once to something like 38ftlbs, and the second time is like ...edit..correction 13 ft lbs..... I figured the first time, was to squeeze the excess grease out from the bearing fit. After the first, you loosen it and then re-torque to the lesser 2nd number. If its done right, the lower and upper rings magically line up so the lock washer can pin them together.
