Actually Viking is a writer/author, so it must be the Iphone thingy. I know when I used my phone to text, my fingers are too big and clumsy...so I start over.

Well, I can sympathize a little with the position of not wanting the "uninvited". If I see a group who is obviously on the scene to be seen, I avoid them like the plague! They seem to be more interested in where they are hanging out and who is there than where they ride. I seen a dude on day on a GS1100, running HARD down FM916, catching up to me quick. I found a good spot and signaled him around me. We crossed paths again at the next stop. I walked up to him to ask him about his bike. We had a pretty long conversation, and he told me he "assumed" since I was on a Roadstar (that he thought was a Harley), I was gonna start some crap about his riding around me and "disrespecting" me by passing me. Turns out me and Bob think a lot alike.
I pass anyone I please who is impeding my desired rate of forward progress. It has nothing to do with respecting the other individual. If they think it does, then I'm sorry the boy's club has your brain wired that way. I'm amazed at how many "hard core bikers" I see driving around like a rolling road block, and I will continue to blast around them, and wave as I do!

I ride a Wing now and wave often, but sometime I actually find myself thinking this waving thing is highly overrated; I don't find myself wondering why I have not been waved at - or back at - and really can care less. I just want to ride. If you pass me on my Wing and I don't wave please don't think I'm stuck up... it's probably because I am enjoying the ride so much that I am not into waving at the moment!

Being in the lakes region of Maine, there are lots of places to stop along the road and relax. It's usually the rule that bikes park together in one area, for the safety of those who would be less careful. If the group is all chatting together in a bunch, I will usually give them the nod and walk away. If they greet me with words I'll hang for a few. Really depends upon the crew.....I am very easy going and have more important things to worry about.

This post seems completely out of place with the preceeding posts. The original post doesn't seem to warrant such a response. Para tried to make conversation during a pit stop- since when is small-talk "disrespectful?" It's looking-past others (particularly those who share a common interest- like motorcycling) and having no regard them at all that constitutes "disrespect." You sound like you and your cool buddies are the "mean girls." Since you are giving no respect here with your abrasive comment, you wil get none in return.
