Passenger seat two-tone upgrade? 1 Year ago
|
|
As noted in my sig pic, I have the 04 R* with the two-tone black/brown seat with studs. My wife's butt seems to get tired a lot sooner than mine so I wanted to look into upgrading the passenger seat but would like to keep the two-tone look with studs so it matches the rest of the bike.
Ideas/websites/contacts would be welcomed - kind of curious how much it's gonna cost to fix this pain in the a**.

Take it to an upholstery shop and have them shave it down to fit better and add a gel pad and memory foam. I did that with my Mustang seat and it rides nice now.

My wife has the same problem. Have you done the peg flip yet? that seemed to help alot but still not enough. I will have to give one of those Air Hawk things a try.

The Roadstar passenger seat has as many problems as the rider seat. The slope / pressure points / and width in this case. I think the best passenger seat you can get is a E.D. Seat. It is wider sloped properly and is carved out in all the right spots. The width is accomplished by using a wider base pan which makes a big difference.
We can put a color inlay into the seat for you but would need to try to match that color for it to look right, so I would need a very good up close picture to try to do that.
If you are interested in doing this contact me direct at email below.

I have the passenger boards flipped which lowered them a couple of inches - she said that helped but not enough. I'm still contemplating other options.

yep same here. I have an idea about some passenger hiyhway pegs mounted to the same bolts the floorboards sre to give her differnet places to put her feet. Just like we do on the engine guards.
