I run Amsoil and change every 5000 miles.

change mine before the riding season..5000 to 9000 mi per yr,,works for me

I go at least 6k with any syn oil. And that 3 changes a yr.

hahaha its not that bad really about 60 bux for the oil and filter,just done a change about 200kms ago,i figure the heat breaks the oil down fast and the best is gone out of it,i never ever had it tested or anything,just my opinion

I think the oil molecule stays the same, but contaminants (particulate matter and acids etc) are no good. Running Mobil 20-50 V Twin stuff now, I changed mine at 14k when I got the bike and won't touch it till 20k. Heat on a non syn oil may lerad to coking, but I'm not too worried about any of that.

The oil survives. It's the additive package that wears out. The biggest offender is our tranny gears. They can tear an oil additive package up real good!
