Here is a small article that hits that subject in one spot. Also your gauge will show a different color on the outer ring when you get to a undesirable AFR.

Thanks Dave, the article did answer my question.

Re:Power Commander? 11 Months ago
Gentlemen I own a 2008 f.i. Roadstar, I removed the stock pipes and went with Big Growl Slash cut drags, a BAK and Power Commander3 usb. I have my O2 sensors removed. My bike runs great in gears 1, 2, and 3, at 50 miles an hour in 4th gear I'm dumping to much fuel and the bike starts to stutter. I touch the throttle to speed up and it goes away, it does the same thing in 5th gear at 70. My ais is still on. I sure would like it if someone could give me the answer to fix this, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

You dont need a map with this thing. Power Commander is a paper weight now in fact mine is sitting on the top of my sockets on my roller cabinet. They r pricey but well worht the money spent. Others here and the RSR forum have these installed. Ask around others will back me up on these Cobra units

Re:Power Commander? 11 Months ago
I've read pages of posts on this so I'm just throwing my $.02 in here. 2009 Roadie, HK 2.75 Big Straights, L.A. Choppers BAK, Power Commander V. Pulls like a freight train no stutters, no hiccups, no surging. Almost 1K since I put it on and no issues. I do not have the O2 sensors hooked up. It may have something to do with the fact that PC has a map for pretty much my exact setup or it may be something with the V over the III but mine runs without any of the seemingly common PC issues. But to each their own, I know some members don't run one and have no issues it's just my personal choice to run one.

The Cobra Power Pro does work. Whether it is really necessary or not, I couldn't say but I have no problems with mine.

Re:Power Commander? 11 Months ago
I was told by a certified yamaha tech buddy of mine that I need to bring the bike in so it can be thrown on the dyno and tuned, he said each cylinder will be done, then both at the same time in each gear! He told me that just picking a map that is close to my set-up will not work BECAUSE it's not my bike! So I ask him if I spend the $375. for the dyno tune will it fix the problem? He said absolutely, and I should not have any issues unless I upgrade pistons or cams, then it's back to the dyno!

JD I here you on the get it in writing! I can see leaving the dealership and getting a mile down the road and the same shit. When I get home tonight I'm going to zero the map out and reload a map for just the BAK and see how it goes! I would much prefer the bike to run a little lean then too rich!
