Rear shock/ spring, front springs and floorboard 11 Months, 4 Weeks ago
I posted on here a week or so ago about my very large Buddy and his R/S sagging with his big ass on it. what I saw on here was bigger rear spring or shock, change the sprngs in the front and extending the floor boards forward. My question is what am I looking for (names of parts) and where can he purchase them?

For the floorboards, check the tech articles. There is one that shows how to move them forward.

I'm a big guy, 320lbs and I just installed the Eibach 1000lb spring yesterday, and it feels *much* better than stock.

I had the pre-load cranked up all the way on the stock spring to handle my size and it bounced an pogoed a lot. I never had any problems with bottoming out but it felt pretty harsh on the bumps and unstable.

I bought the 1000lb spring direct from Eibach [it's the same spring that comes in all the aftermarket kits accept the progressives] and I paid only $59 for it. I believe it may have gone up $10 since then but it's still worth it because at least the Eibach reseller I deal with, [Ground Control near Sacromento, CA] will allow you to send it back for a different spring rate if you're not happy with it. You can even go stiffer if need be for the same price.

Some have said the Eibach is harsh but the key is not to use too much preload. I've got mine dialed almost all the way out and it's *way* more comfortable than the stock spring and it handle bumps much better.

I've got progressive springs in the front and they made a huge improvement over stock. The bike no longer dives under braking which used to upset the handling a lot.

I did the same as others....had my preload cranked all the way up with the stock spring and didnt change it when I switched to the Eibach. very harsh..when I realized what I did, I backed it way off and it was perfect. still sets up...great ride...responsive.
