I have heard of "issues" with the Twin Cam motor in every bumped displacement, but everyone I have known that is running a "straight 88" has had no problems.

I don't own any of them, so it's all heresay, but just about everyone I know with one is running an 88. Couple of 96's, but I haven't seen them guys since forever.

R* is happy all day at 85! These bikes are geared just about right for putting mucho highway miles behind you.

I to like to go fast on a bike in a car I can take it slow but something about being out in the open makes me want to go fast. I usually cruse at 75 or 80 never had a problem. My bike likes to go fast doesent like to poke along.

I have a 1600 and my brother has the 1700 Road Stars... when we ride down to Florida to see our parents, we typically run bar to bar at the pace of 90 to 100 at times with an average pace of around 85... so yeah, these bikes can handle it... ride it like you stole it and don't look back... evidently, that guy didn't know anything about our bikes

So, did this guy have a pocket protector and tape on his glasses? Next time ask him if he would like some cheese and crackers to go with his wine.

One time I got 73 points on my driver license in about 15 minutes. 3 of the tickets were for going over 100 mph. You wern't even close to what it can do.

i get to 90mph pretty quick but it feels like it wont go anymore, kind of felt like a stumble.

thats the first time i cracked the throttle. i was late getting to a funeral for someone that passed on a bike wreck. maybe it was all in my head?

My brother tells me hes brang his to well over 100mph and at some point after 110mph it stumbles.

Funny how a Harley rider is such a expert on a roadstars inner workings. Unless he has first hand knowledge of the road star he must be compairing it to what his bike could handle. I have read in a few forums that the 110's are having a issue with popin head gaskets as well as other issues. Not bashing must thats the only thing I can think of, that he is compairing it to his bike. Or that he cant ride that hard and didnt want to hurt his own pride. I myself wouldn't think twice about a cruise at 100mph if Johnny law would leave me alone and I bet my roadie would just whistle while see works the rev limiter keeps us from over reving it
I have a 08' cvo Springer with the 110", HD did a recall to correct the head gasket issue. I know that 110" runs hot hot hot! If you ride it pretty hard for a good period of time it will start acting real stupid, hic-uping, pre detonating, stumbles. All heat related. Oh well mine is slammed so low to the ground that it really is more of a bar hoppper to me then a road bike. The yamaha is so much more enjoyable to go for long rides. Don't get me wrong, I like HD, especially old iron, but some guys buy a Harley and all of a sudden every thing else is no god, BS!

By the way, one of the other new guys was ring a new Vaquero, OMG! I think I know what my next purchase is going to be. Nice bike and H2O cooling. He was doing no complaining about the speed either. Have you guys looked at one of these up close? I think if I was a springer parked in my garage I would be starting to sweat! lol

This one is all set up and for sale http://roaringtwinz.com/2011/04/slide-2/

I am gonna get one of those in a few years when they are dirt cheap. Cool bikes and really comfortable to sit on. I want to ride one soon. I saw the one you have in the pic while they were building it. Roberts shop In Sarasota which is where I recently lived and cranks out some nice stuff. He would not fool with anything but crotch rockets until a few years back. I have a friend that has an GSXR 1100 that they built and that thing is so pretty. They chromed the frame and all the fasteners on the whole bike.
