Rear Fender??? 11 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Okay guys. I don't think you can see it in my sigpic but the rear fender on my roadie is cracked on both sides. Looks like the guy that I got the bike from bent it in somehow and then bent it out. Well it cracked the metal on both sides and now the fender flexes in the rear. I took 2 pieces of thick aluminum flashing and riveted them to each underside of splits. Still has too much flex in it. Wondering if anyone had some ideas of what I can do to make it a little more solid so it stops flexing and then I can cover it with a leather chap that I have designed up. Or any other cheap fix ideas would be awesome too.

Thanks
Jonesie

In short, after you reinforce the crack, coat the underside with bed liner paint found at your local automotive store.

There are ways to fix it but yea, I would just get a used fender off ebay. You could get a 04 and up and change out the tail light and blinkers too. So it wod look like a newer roadie but also the 04 and up fenders use a second part to the subframe to help hold the fender still so it dont crack

Mine has been like that for the last year, not as bad but its got a crack in it,Know what I did? Nothing! Its not noticable,Not a big deal. If it interferes with the ride.....It will give me an excuse to buy that Taildragger fender I have had my eye on!

It'll get worse if you don't do something about it. Mine started at an inch, and I thought eh, no biggie, and forgot about it. Next time I look it's 6"+ long.
