After almost 6000 miles on my R*, I finally put a floorboard on the ground. Took a left turn a little fast to make the green light and drug it pretty good. A good thing I took a leak before I left the house since I wasn't carrying clean underwear. I used to grind the boards regularly on my Shadow but I wasn't expecting it this time. It was so much fun that I did it again on my way home from work. Got both sides in the s curve interstate on ramp!

Love it blue star, I've been hooked for a while. I'm looking into doing something with the titanium myself maybe like what the grinder is thinking about. I kinda want to try to follow the pattern of the sacrificial metal on the bottom side of the foot board

I still have boards left on mine but getting used to hearing them grind the woman hates it when she is on the back though the titanium would be fun but I would leave a trail of fire around here its been pretty dry lately sparks would be cool though, congrats on the grinding by the way and get past the boards and you will drag frame like JD said

The group I ride with has gotten used to me doing it, it used to scare them and I would get asked what happened when we would get to the next stop like something was wrong. Now all I get is a bunch of head shakes because they know most of the time it is on purpose to scare the cagers.

I had kinda forgot how much fun a little grinding is. Just on more thing to put a smile on your face while riding. It's a little bit embarrasing tho to have ridden some of those great roads in the mountains of TN and NC without ever touching a board to the ground. I was doing a little searching on the web a little while ago and found out you can buy titanium bolts on Ebay. Pretty inexpensive for smaller ones and should be easy to drill and tap the board for one. It would be a lot cheaper than the ones Fireman posted for anyone who wants to put on a light show. Think I will try it myself since I ride so much at nite.

I used to love to watch Troy Bayliss in World Superbike. He used the titanium toe sliders on his boots, and every once in a while, he could put up a roost that would flow over the next guy's helmet! Troy had a very high win percentage, so the guy behind him was usually in second place.

Since I just put on the new pipes last Sat., Thought I'd check and make sure all the bolts were still tight. They were but I found drag scratches on the lower one. It's a little hard to tell but it runs from the back of the floorboard all the way to the tip.
