I don't think I would use it for long distance towing. A problem I see it that everything your car kicks up is heading straight for the bike. No protection at all. For a distance like you're talking about a trailer is the only way to go IMO. My dad used to tow his old Honda 175 to the beach while I rode my 350. We actually had to lift the front tire into the bracket. But since the bike only weighed a couple of hundred pounds and it was only a couple of hundred miles . . .
