My bike has become very unsettled.CommanderII tires 1800 miles ago, tried different air pressures from 36 to 42
steering head adjusted rear alinement checked, have run out of ideas.Bike will just veer left or right not in big
amounts, but enough that I'am constantly have to correct it,not much fun to ride.I have let other guys try it and
they also notice it.It acts like it wants to tip over, like I said left or right.
It does not follow road cracks,it just goes down the road twitching back and forth.

Any help would be appreciated, about ready to grab a hammer. Frustrated....

===================

I had same excact thing happen with new tires that had approx 1k on them,i cound not find anything wrong or out of adjustment etc on the bike ,tires were reballanced & looked pefect like new too.

I deiced even though the front tire looked perfect(dunlop 404) with only 1k moiesl on it to swap it out for a new Bridgestone & WALLA!!,the was issue fixed & bike stopped wondering on its own where ever it wantted to go just like you stateted was happening .

I now have over 10k mils in that front tire with no issues so far, looks to have approx 3-4k miles left in it.

BTW,aftrer removing the bad front Dunlop 404 tire with 1k miles on it i went over on it very cloosely inside & out and could not find anything wrong it,it also trakced true when on bike too.

Got with reginal dunlop trie rep and he would do anything for me ,NAPA,didnt care his product was defective ,that terrible customrer srv'c IMHO,NO MORE DUNLOPS for me on ncars or bike!!!

Went with shinko 777 when rear dunlop wore out in 4,500miles,shinko no has 4k miles on it and lloks to have another 3k-maybe 4k miles left in it.

Thats always riding 2 up on my silverado with bags loaded most of the time (stock bags on sides and aftermarket bags on rear luggage rack ).

I will be trying a shinko 777 on the front when the Bridgstone is worn out.

But if you have checked steering head bearing adj, tire pressure, reballanced tries, chk rear to front tire aln, visually chk tires & rims for running true & straight etc and all checks out ok then i'd try a new front tire before it causes you to go down which could happen when your bikes got twitchy/spooky handling going on.

Its well worth the $$ to replace the front tire to see if that fixes it in your case like it did for me vs not replacing the tire possibly causing an accident due to the unpredictable downright spooky handling your bike currently has.

Scott, really appreciate your input. This has drove me nuts for about 1800 miles, thinking it was me.
Have ordered a new front tire, should be in next week, totally at witts end trying to figure out was
wrong, about ready to grab a hammer or another ride, but I think a tire is cheaper

Will keep ya posted.

If your Bridgestone is the G703 Scott then good luck wearing it out. The tread depth on those is 9/32" compared to 5/32" on the Dunlops. The stock Bridgestone is the longest lasting front tire I've ever found.

My next rear will be a Commander II if I can ever wear out the Pirelli MT66 that's on there now.

Re:Bike hs become very unsettled 9 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Well after waiting two weeks for my new tire to come in(they lost it coming from eastern canada)
I snapped and bought the only tire i could find out my way witch was a kenda kruz, not what i wanted but
was done waiting Problam solved no more twitching back and forth having to constantly correct
the attitude of the bike.Missed just about two weeks of riding in a already short season (pissed)
Commander II will be sent back to Michelin to be checked out,how much you want to bet they say there is
nothing wrong with the tire.Oh well back to riding now so all is good,a little two wheel therapy coming up this weekend
