I have 58,000 miles on mine right now. I really don't care what Yamaha says. If that belt does not have any cracking on the inside by the cogs I would not worry about the belt. Depending on how you ride and your weather plays a role in how the belt will last. If you like to put the hammer down alot the belt life will be shortened. Here in the desert we have to deal with the heat taking it's toll on things. But like I said I have a lot of miles on my bike and my belt still looks good and unless I can see a problem I don't fix what ain't broke. IMO!
