A while back you responded to one of my posts re: increasing revs on my '01 1600 by suggesting I consider finding an ignition from a 1700 due to slightly higher rev limiter. Is this a plug and play kind of deal? I recently added a BAK and love the difference. What do you think?

Yup. Hooks right up and will raise you from 4250 to 4750. I think it's a good deal.

I would say 500 RPM is a tad more than slight Just my opinion but anything higer than this and you are outside the power band anyway. I'm sure others will disagree

Yeah, 500 rpm is more than slight. Just tried to respond to the post, had to register and now have to wait 48 hrs. I'll give it a shot in a few days.

it plugs straight in to the same connections as the standard one.

apart from the raised rev limit, the programming of the ignition advance is better than on the 1600 unit, and the difference in the midrange is noticeable.

if you can get hold of one, do so, as itīs one of the best cheap (if you pick up a s/h one) mods that you can do

I picked up a 1700 module earlier this year. Thanks to Musky.

It does make a noticable difference in the mid-range like erizo says. Best cheap mod I have put on so far. I recommend it to anyone with a 1600. Like the others have said just take the old module out and put the 1700 in and ride.

Thanks guys.
I never remember about the advance. Don't know why that won't stick in my head.
