well said. funniest thing about my road* so far is that a HD dealer knew way more about how to deal with SVS than 3 yammy stealers.the HD dealer basically told me how to fix svs with MMO as they too had the same problem years ago. so sad and sorryful but true. anyway I will be keeping me roady for awhile.

Last year at Mytrell beach a young fella asked what I rode in on and I replied a Yamaha Roadstar. He said, " Those are good bikes to". I told him I felt the same and noticed Harley makes bikes that look allot like the Yamaha.

Dam kids, I had to tell him that I was riding Harleys when his ma was pulling here "G" string aside so someone could make him. Bottom line is Harley makes a good bike and so do Yamaha so this time around I decided I wanted a good bike and did not need the attitude saving myself around 5k or so.

Every one of these all American,s sit in front of a Jap TV, were jeans made in China, have wet dreams about Asian girls.

Just gets my goat, thanks for reading

HAH! Hahhhaaaahhaa!
Boy! That's all of it in a nutshell Man! You got a good point there.
Half of the American built bikes ARE built with Japanese components. The Japanese build some of the best components like alternators, starters, and electronics.

Yup. Grams right on the 1200 Sportster. Sportsters really to scream, but then again they are much lighter and will rev higher. I am a "torque with comfort" guy and prefer a Roadie instead.

I actually had one HD rider stand up from his table grab his coffee cup and state "I can't sit here with someone wearing an American Flag on his shirt and driving a Jap bike"

Someone mentioned this double standard acouple days ago.
I'll bet that guy wnet home to watch football on his "Made in JAPAN" bigscreen TV, and after the game he looked through his magazines full of Asian girls.
Those kind of people kinda scare you, as you never know what they are going to do, you might one day walk out to find your Japanese bike set on fire by some HD lyalist with an attitude. (This actually happened at a local backcountry bar near here, only because the poor chap parked his Honda too close to the HD's by the fron door of the bar! )
A violent guy with that kind of attitude does not even have respect for his own country, and no respect for what the soldiers in the wars are fighting/have fought for!

On the Road* v Fatboy subject. Last year I went back & forth between the HD dealer & the Yamaha dealer. I researched everything I could find on these two bikes, that's also when I found the Clinic here. I knew I wanted to turn either one into a touring bike. I finally made my decision on cost more than any thing. I gave $8,300 for my new Road*, and the Fatboy was $17,600. Both similarly equiped. I figured I would put around another $6,000 in it getting it setup the way I wanted it. When I'm finished with my Road* I'll have less than $15,000 in it. The Fatboy would have been around $24,000. I don't get as much respect from the HD guys, but I'll keep more of my hard earned cash in my pocket. That's more important to me than an ego trip.
I just like bikes.
