[quote they learn that if you trickle water in the carb while lightly reving the engine, this will remove carbon deposits in the engine and return it to a clean state. For motorcycles, use a spray bottle. Remove the air cleaner. Get the engine hot. Sprits with the water. You will notice an improvement.

Enjoy.[/quote]

Hey russdustus,
My wife always said that "steam cleaning" was the best!
I have done this on old motors to get rid of carbon too, it works awesome! -SM

I borrowed my uncles '52 Chevy to go on a date when I was 16 and didn't have my own car. Of course I had to 'blow it out' to see how fast it was. The next time I saw him he asked me what I did to make his car not burn oil.

hey Yakman

A buddy of mine bought a HD last summer after it had sat for for about a year. He had it tuned up etc, etc... but it was his first bike really and drove it very easy. Sooo the last time we were out on a run I suggested that he open it up - I mean crank that mutha!

I was behind him and after about 30 sec I saw a big plume of black coming out of his pipes... We stop some miles later and he was grinning from ear to ear. He didn't know what had happened but he felt the bike hesitate then surge and bragged about how it was then running. He blew the carbon out for sure. So it can make a difference.

Like they say "ride it like ya stole it"

Ya probably worked the engine enough to "load" the rings and make 'em seat against cylinder walls, or blew the carbon off 'em so they didn't stick anymore!

I usually don't drive my diesel truck that hard, but I don't baby it either. After a day of driving around town, I got out on the highway, and this little Volkswagen Rabbit was ticking me off, slowing down to a crawl on the hills! So I kicked the old Dodge into 5th and put the throttle down and by the time I passed him (and 3 others trying not to let me pass), I was nearing the 100 MPH mark, ! Tach was at an all-time high of 2,800 RPM...
As I pulled back into the lane in front of them, A whole bunch of soot came loose from inside my muffler and all of a sudden the vehicles behind me dissapeared in a black cloud of glory....
You definitely nee to get out on the highway and "wring it out" to clean the pipes and such!
(There was a cop just over the hill... but he didn't stop me!)
