well, i'm not much on the Cobra brand pipes but I like the lowboys better as for as looks, that would be my choice of the two, but there are alot more choices out there I would prefer. I just added Bub Big Willys on my ride, but now i'm thinking of snatching them off and putting the origional headers back on with some slip-on fish tails. I guess if I done this first I would have saved some $$$.

Re:aftermarket exhaust questions 4 Years, 5 Months ago
back in '04 when i was ridin my '03 v-star 650 i seen two of the silver edition roadies with the cobra low boys and i said right then that when i got a roadie i would have those low boys on mine too.

well, when i got my '06 roadie cobra had come out with the speedsters and i just loved the low sleek look of the longs! then the owner of the dealership where i purchased the bike told all about the "h" pipe like the ford mustangs and then a fellow roadie owner had his engine tore down gettin it bored and ported and all kinds of fancy performance stuff, and he showed me the "h" pipe on the speedsters and i knew that was what i wanted. he had the slash cut speedsters on his standard roadie, i thought the longs would look better with the my silverado, and sure enough they do!

i really like the bub jug huggers and the barons nasties also!! guess you got a lot to choose from! good luck!!

hey biker4life

so you installed the speedster long's ?

are you happy with the sound / are they loud at 55 to 60 mph

called cobra tech - they are coming out with a quiet baffle kit soon for
the speedster pipe line !

ride safe

I agree with biker4life.
I had seen and heard many different pipe setups mostly on Harley's. When I heard the Bub's, I knew instantly that was what was going to be on Ole Dixie . The quality, sound and style of the Jug huggers is what helped with my decision. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I put on a set of Bub's, and love them. I used the jug huggers, and they look and sound awesome. Just my 2 cents.

I started out with Cobras and they were too loud. I'd get off the bike after a highway run and my ears would be ringing. I did the Stage3 Mod to my OEM pipes and put them back on and they have a great sound that's more of a low rumble. My buddy has a Fatboy with Pythons (look and sound like Longshots-off brand of V&H), and he can't get over how great the Stage3 sounds. He compared the bikes sound to a muscle car sound...only bike size. Wish I did the mod earlier and saved some money.

I have the Cobra Speedster Slashdowns. My friends seem to like them, but I could use something deeper and throatier.

I have the cobra speedster longshots.... I was looking for the deeper throatier sound as well...and bought the big city thunder baffles....Man , for 69.00 i was blown away a what a simple solution, great sound, and felt a bit more cowbell as well!
