I bought my 02 Roadstar new, and I absolutely love it...especially with the extra "oomph" that I have now after adding the performance extras and accessories. THese bikes offer a very nice ride and are very justifiable for there price compared to the Harleys. Good luck

Oh another question I was wondering about, does yamaha recommend 90+ gas for the R*?
No - run regular 87 gas. The compression doesn't warrant using higher octane so don't waste your money.

Anything higher than 87 oct. is wasted money. Because the engine isn't designed to run on high octane, running it will have a tendency to cause excessive carbon build up. I run strictly 87, change my oil every 2500 miles (not the 4000 recommended) and at 9000 miles I pulled the valve covers just out of curiosity to see if I had any of the carbon or sludge nightmares I read about on the forum all the time. I'm happy to say they were as clean as the day they were new.

HELP !!!!!
Have 06 Silverado. Love my bike but on hot days when we have been stuck in traffic it runs hot. When it get too hot it starts acting up and dumping fuel - REAL BAD.... I can pull over let it cool down but it has to be COMPLETELY COOL or it dumps fuel really bad. I took it to the dealer in Asheville where I bought it several times they could not figure it out. Not that is is no longer under warranty it is doing it more and more. HELP... LOVE MY BIKE but VERY TIRED OF THIS PROBLEM.

I love my R*. My eyes kind of sprung open when I saw the price difference for the bike with pipes and without. The dealer is charging you about 1300 dollars to put pipes on for ya? Seems a bit steep considering you can buy the pipes yourself for under 450 for a good set depending upon what your preference is. And since you don't need to rejet there is not too much to putting them on yourself. Just my opionion. Enjoy the bike though.
