OK Butch,
Now is the time to get your main rider to tell you where they would like the floorboards. It is their comfort that you are looking for. I know that the instructiuons say their is a left and right brack but hay we always do what we want. I have included a photo of a bike with passengers floorboards.

Sorry, for not answering sooner. No, mine are all the way back, and it only partly obstructs the yamaha logo, not like yours where it covers the whole name. Also note that I have Cobra tail pipes which seem to sit lower than the stock exhaust that you seem to have, meaning that maybe you don't really have a choice but to leave them the way you have them. They look good at either setting.
Oh and really important case to remember is that the position you have them set right now increases the chance of someone's boot heel, sneakers, etc to scuff your hot pipes and maybe melt on them, thus causing you to use some elbow grease to get those off. Just warn the passenger prior to riding.
I know, I've seen it happen.

Hey Butch,

I have a set of the Yamaha Passenger floorboards for the wife and they are in the forward position. Yes they are very close to the pipes but they don't touch. Even thought they don't say it in the instructions you can mount them either way that the passengers comfort is best. My wifes is not very tall (5' 4&quot but loves the streched out feel of them forward. Try install one board one way and the other board the other way and see which one feels better to your passenger. I do have the stock pipes done to stage 3, so I know they will fit either way.

Post edited by: beekstar, at: 2004/09/20 21:05
