do you guys think this would be good to do. 4 Years, 4 Months ago
i have a buddie that has run his bike way to rich for along time and there is co much carbon in the pipes it not funny. i would think the cyclinders are very black as well. if we pulled the spark plugs out and put seafoam in the cylinders and let it sit over night then sucked it back out. do you think it would break up the carbon and start to remove it so we dont have to pull the heads and clean her out. we took the pipes off and pressure washed them out. lets say i think there was more carbon then chrome in those pipes. i didnt even know how this bike ran. its a v-star 1100. any idea's on the seafoam in the cylders might work.

If you can find it get some Deepcreep. It's seafoam in an aerosol can. Hold the idle up a ways and give it a squirt. Do this a couple times. You will get lots - O - smoke. Then let it idle normally and spray it it the carb until the bike dies. Let it sit over night. When you start it the next day world war 3 will go off.

I haven't tried it but i'm guessing you could also pour Seafoam in a spray bottle and do the same thing.

hate to do that. i think the smoke would pee off some people that live near me. but i'll look for that stuff and see about giving that a try. if you seen this would would also try to figure out how it ran. the dealer put dg hard chrome pipes. on and set this thing up so rich. that you might be able to light the pipes on fire when it was running. i put all the stock carb setting back in. as per yamaha. since he only had pipes. no other mods. i woulder if there might be some damage in the motor from so much carbon.

You could try a shock treatment with the Seafoam.

You'll wanna do something before good ole' SVS sets in. It's crazy how the dealerships wanna run these bikes so rich when they switch pipes.

Deep Creep it like Musky said. Neighbors can deal with a little smoke, it ain't gonna kill 'em , and then do a shock treatment with Seafoam for good measure, that ought to get him going. BB

this deep creep, will not hurt anything right just make alot of smoke.

this is what i'll do then the deep creep, like musky said I'll do it twice once today and let it sit then again on sunday, then i'll run a shock treatment in the tank of seafoam, drain and refill oil in the engine after the first tank full. then do half a shock treatment, and work down to the regular treatments of seafoam. that should make it all nice a clean inside right. or is it going to be to much and hurt it.

The deep creep won't hurt a thing. It will just sound like it. You do like backfires and loud bangs don't you?

well back fires no, after fires yes. they are diffrent. some think a loud pop out the pipe is a backfire its not its called an after fire. back fires go up into the carb.

well i did say i run drag pipes on my roadie right now with no baffles. they are loud and they do crackle and pop on decel no matter how you setup the carb.

but its getting to be to much noise i want a nice low strong sound now. once my road house dooleys get here i'll be happy.

I got the sea foam and the deep creep. in alittle bit going to make a smoke show.

let you guys know later on how its doing.
