hey colonel, I feel your pain on wanting the kid to ride with ya. Be thankful yours is close to the riding age. I have often wondered the same about me(295) and my 185 pound 12-year old. It's not that I don't feel confident controlling the roadie with him on it, just handles much different. I, too am looking into the progressive spring, as I don't want to affect the way the bike handles when I manage to get away solo. Thanks for all the imput on this subject. Oh yeah, be the all star dad and let him "ride" the rodie, great now my son is over my shoulder asking when he gets mine. lol I told him he can have my bike when he figures out how to mount my wheelchair and porta-potty to the side car so he can take me EVERYWHERE with him.

Subject: starter problems
Papa Bear: with a new battery installed, i get all lights and electronics functioning when I push the starter button, but only a click. No starter rotation at all. Prognosis please? Papa Bear
