Yamaha still insisted that nothing was wrong with my bike but wanted to inspect it again. I told them hell no and shelled out $500.00 bucks to have it checked out by a local custom builder. He ran it on the dyno and the bike was so lean my pipes glow red at 2000rpm. No power over 3500rpm, compression test was 100psi rear and 75psi front! Leak down test showed 30% loss past the rings! He checked the valves and fuel system and that was good. He did say there was no evidence that my motor had been gone into. They drained the oil and measured it. 3 1/2 qts
