Kill switch 6 Years ago
2 times now at stop lights and once getting on the bike to go somewhere I have hit the kill switch without being aware my thumb was even near it. Is there something about the R* that makes this easier to do than on other bikes or is my natural lack of motor skills catching up to me? The first time it happened at a stop light I hopped off the bike , pushed it to the side of the road, spent 10 minutes trying figure out what was wrong, saw what was wrong, flagged down a passing car and had them kick me in the ass, then started the bike and went on. Since then if this happens I know what I did and just flick it off but I'm still doing it.

I had to laugh when I read that.
Last year on my first long trip I did basically the same thing twice. First time I was in a rest area in the middle of nowhere. I shut the bike down like normal and when I went to start it again, nothing. Sat there for a good 20 minutes stressin before I noticed it was the kill switch. The second time I had just gassed up, only took 10 minutes that time to notice what it was. Now that I'm wise to that happening it hasn't happened again, of course we are only in May still plenty of time for my memory to fail.

I'll go for the "natural lack of motor skills catching up to me".

Still happens to me.

Re:Kill switch 6 Years ago
Reminds me of the times when I got on my bike, started it, got 10 feet down the drive and it quit. Tried to restart, 25 minutes and almost a battery later I saw the problem. Called my wife out of the house, she's mad that I called her out, had her push me down on the ground, she was more than willing, got up fixed the problem and rode off. Needless to say I don't turn off the gascock any more..........

That's a funny story. To tell you the truth, I really dont like that kill switch because I forget about it all the time. I have a bad habit of leaving the "KEY" in the "On" position after I've use the kill switch to turn off the bike. I've been stranded a couple times due to a dead battery. What I do now is avoid the kill switch all together and turn the bike off with the Key. Since I've stared doing that I've accidentally hit the kill switch on several occasions and has taken me some time before I figured out what the problem was...and yes, felt like kicking myself aswell...LOL
