i got the cobra speedster longs on my bike about 2 months after i bought it. i was torn between the v&h longshots or the speedsters. my dealer had a bike tore down doin engine work and he showed me the "h pipe" on the speedsters. its kinda like the h pipe on the ford mustang's exhaust. i talked to the guy who's bike had the speedsters and he said he loved the pipes. he said he had the v&h but chnaged over to the speedsters for better performance.

i think the speedsters have the right balance of deep throaty sound and performance boost. my wife wears a 3/4 helmet and she has never complained about the noise of the pipes, neither has anyone ridin behind me!! i had the cobra drags on my old 650 vstar and you're right, they are very noisy! the speedsters, and the bigger engine of the roadie, make a deeper throaty sound.

best thing i like about the speedsters is the low straight look. v&h pipes come back up over the transfer case.
