Re:Carb Problems!!! 4 Years, 3 Months ago
dj 195 is too rich,
I have kn filter kit and vh pipes and am currently using the 180 specs below pic...

Dyno jet starts way to rich and does not give the jets with the kit for regular driving.
Mine ran great with the 190 but built up carbon inside the pipes. So to beware SVS I kept jetting leaner as long as the bike runs good. This spring we have a traveling dyno that comes to the bike night and I will get a couple of passes to check out the settings and confirm my tuning direction.

check to make sure you did not bend the float tabs when you went inside.

drop down to the 3rd clip and put the 190 in it and try from there.

the 195, 4th clip, and using the dynojet needle is WAAAY rich.

bigger ainīt always better

That's the problem with the DJ kit. They don't give you enough choices in jet sizes. The numbers are too far apart. And they don't give you the sizes you will most likely need. You should pic up a 180 and maybe a 185 if you are going to stick with DJ IMO. For sure go down to the 3rd and at least the 190. Check your float level too. It's easier than you think to knock the float out of whack.

When I first took the carb off I found that the PMS screw was already uncovered so I run it in and back out 3 1/2 turns and put carb back on. this is when the gas started shooting out of the carb. There are 2 small holes in the face of the carb where the air cleaner goes 1 has what appears to be a jet in it the other is just and empty hole this is where the gas is coming from. The float and needle appear to be ok.
