There's a couple ways of checking the float level. You can check it with the carb on the bike or off. Here's a couple ways.

Carb on bike

Off the bike

I did it off the bike. Yeah you need to take the carb off but it's a one time shot.

Also make sure the float and the needle are moving freely.

OK checked float alignment its good went all the way back to 170 jet on 3rd clip and put baffles back in pipes and it's still spitting gas on closer inspection its coming out of that hole and around needle also. I'm lost may have to take it to the stealer.

If the height of the float is ajusted properly, It sure sounds like it is sticking or not seating properly..This is a shot in the dark, but you may need a new needle and valve assembly..give the float bowl a rap or two with the butt end of a screwdriver and see it it stops,,sometimes they stick and the vibes will shake the needle enough to seal...

I took the carb off originally to jet it but seen it had already been jetted so all I did was set the pms to 3 1/2 and reinstall I have tried rapping on it. went on and put kit in and now back to original settings won't even stay running now. Gonna go get some plugs they are probably fouled out.

Just a shot in the dark.... One time I changed the needle and the silver washer..(at the bottom) came off as I was putting it back in . Never even noticed it falling off. When I started it I had gas running out of the carb. I tryed everything, couldnt get it to quit. After a day and a half I pulled the needle out and saw the washer missing. Found it laying right where the two jugs come together, tucked back in there. Never would of saw it if I wasnt looking for it. Just a shot.

Sorry eagle ..my bad! I dropped the spacer off the damn needle. Imagine that. Was talking to my brother while working on it and it slid off without me noticing. And I had done that carb 10 times.

There are 2 washers. 1 on top of the clip and 1 under the spacer. The gas deal started after you took the carb apart. Right? You didn't change anything that time just put it back together?
