Just a thought on the Service manuals. Could there be a Service manual folder created in the forums list? And maybe make the links in the floder clickable? It seems like it would help alot of people and make them easier to find and use.

Gram's the site administrator so I'll let him answer.

How's that for delegating responsibility.

Seemless execution. Saw the link you added. I hadn't seen that one before. I just went with the first one I ran across. I didn't want to pay to have a CD. I don't have a laptop to take out to my bike so I would have to print everything out anyway.

I don't like the electronic version. I bought a manual.

I love running my greasy/dirty fingers across the pages and making everyone think I'm the 'mechanic'.

There may be a copyright issue with publishing the manual. I know Yamaha was pretty insistent about Mr. Tidy's taking down the exploded parts diagrams for Yamahas. I'd think they might have the same objection to publishing the service manuals. Maybe there's a lawyer on here that can give some advice!

I thought about that but there really isn't anything published here. It's just links to someone else who has them up. They can make them take them down so we would be clicking on dead links but I don't know if they can bar just certain people (us) from clicking on an existing link. I could be completely wrong. Have been numerous times. Probably won't stop here either.

I appreciate your sentiments on this one Musky, but we opted a long time ago not to post them on the site (they are clearly copyrighted material).

I hesitate to even add links that are officially sanctioned, as that seems to imply that we endorse copyright infringement. If we found a way to get Yamaha's consent, we would post them immediately. Something I'm fairly certain Yamaha would not consent to .

Posts in the forum have been left alone, as they are not 'official', and are analgous to conversations between individual users.

I can see your point. Makes sense when you explain it that way. I guess as long as they can stay in the threads people can still find them.

Thanks

I'll just have to call Yamaha and give them a piece of my mind. If I can find it. I had a piece left. Somewhere around here. Might be in this drawer.........
