Chrome Pulley Nut Covers 5 Years, 5 Months ago
Hi all,

Know it’s not a big spending issue but did some of you go for the polymer Star chrome pulley nut covers, and for those who did, do they fit sturdily? The thing is I’m not too crazy about plastic/ABS pieces, afraid they will crack and fall off, so does anyone knows of any aftermarket cie who sells metal pulley nut covers?

Thanks,

RG

Yeah... I broke down and bought the little beggars. They are a piece of cake to put on and they will not come off unless you pry them off. They have an "O" ring on the inside to ensure a tight fit, so you'll have to apply a light coat of oil to the inside to install them.

So far, I've yet to have one fall off or back out. Let alone break!

A nice easy, quick dress up for the rear of your bike.

I bought those from yamaha,, Been on for 2 years and never come off,, The O ring keeps them tight. Looks great on my midnight pully too,, Just trying to figure how to dress my axel nuts up. I know yamaha sells a cover plate , but never seen one on a roadie before.

Thanks guys, think I’m gonna go with the Star nut covers after all, like the "O" ring feature for a snug fit.

Hi guys,

I got my nut covers today but they didn’t come with any "O" ring. Are they supposed to be inside the covers already and will they hold without them? The reason I ask this silly question is because I don’t have easy access to my bike and therefore cannot proceed to fit them on the pulley. Of course this is not a big issue but if something is missing I wanna be able to get back to the dealer ASAP.

Thanks

RG

Well Doc, that’s the first thing I did and no ring, zippo. The covers were glued to a white strip with a peel off sticky bottom.

I just put mine on this week and same thing...stuck to a little white piece of sticky paper. Nothing inside but they press on real tight and look good. I presume they will stay put except maybe during smoky burnouts....
