I have all the gear, seldom wear any of it except the glasses. We dont have a helmet law but eye protection is required. I wear a jacket and helmet after the sun goes down because the deer here are so thick. Its really a personal choice I guess. Smart people wear gear, I know. I did read though that if you are not wearing a riding jacket and riding pants, you might as well be wearing a T shirt and shorts. Long sleeve shirts and blue jeans are good for about 1/2 second when sliding over pavement. I have totaled out one bike in a wreck, and believe it or not, I had a helmet on. Luck of the draw I guess. I ride every intersecion like someone is going to pull out in front of me. They often do.

I ride with all the gear. I have seen the pics and don't want to be counted in that number.
Normally I wear a denim jacket in the fall and spring, leather in the winter and a heavy denim shirt (long sleeve) in the summer. Gloves all the time (ever been hit with a wasp at 70mph between the fingers?....not fun ).
But to each his or her own.
