If you have a 2006 and the kit is for the 99-03 then you have the wrong kit.

Try and sent it back and get the 04 and up kit.

Re:ais removal questions 9 Months ago
hey doc and musky, I got home tonight and looked again at the directions and it does say 2004 all 1700cc models. I also got the fuel pump relocation kit and the directions for that are broken down 99-03, and 04. Sould I follow the directions for the 04 on the fuel pump relocation kit. Sorry to turn the focus away from the ais. I will be doing the ais removal tommorrow while we get six to ten inches of snow. Anyone have tire chain for the roadie for sale? I have to find some humor somewhere! Thaks again guys.

Yup. Any directions you get that says 04 will work all the way up 07. Then we go to 08 with the EFI. Don't know what all was changed for that.

All 1700 motors are the same. The only difference would be if you have a California model which has a bunch more junk to take off.

Thanks for the reminder. It's a year later and I still haven't removed the AIS/CA Smog from my '06 because I'm too chicken sh*t to try it. Anybody in SoCal wanna job?

I'm off to see if anyone has done a write up for a 1700 CA bike for removal of both systems.

I just finished removing the AIS from the roady, it took less than an hour and the bike looks a heck of a lot better. But as you can see in my first pic I cannot test drive it yet. But monday it is supposed to be 44 degrees and Sunny. That is down right balmy! AIS removal was pretty easy so give it a shot!

Hey pman

Yeah. You don't realize how cluttered and bad it looked until you take it off. Geeze. Your weather looks worse than mine. At least it's sunny here today.

I think the only difference between the 03 and 04 is the holes in the jugs and you have to take the fuel pump off on the 04.
