I'm almost embarrassed to tell you the mileage I got on my bike this past Saturday. Rode 222 miles before my low fuel light came on and when I gassed up, it would only take 3.8 gallons (58 mpg). That's far and away the best mileage I've gotten with the bike, although 50 and lower 50s is fairly common. The whole ride was fairly low speed -- around 60. Toward the end of the ride I was beginning to think my low fuel light was burned out but I knew I still had the reserve if needed. Low fuel light came on when I was almost home and I actually filled up at the same station and pump that I filled up with at the start of the ride.

I'm beginning to think that I may have gone overboard with the jetting trying to keep it toward the lean side! Seem to have plenty of power, though, and bike doesn't appear to be running too hot. I got the idea from reading some of Odo's comments that it was just about impossible to run the Road Star too lean -- that performance would take a big hit before that would happen. That's the reason I went in this direction. Is there anything you think I should check or watch to make sure I'm not too lean?
