Jug Huggers and Twin Velocity Plus 5 Years, 11 Months ago
I just bought a brand new 05 Road Star. I did a stage 1 mod on the pipes and love it, but it's just not enough. I am looking at the combo of Jug Huggers and a Kuryakyn Twin Velocity Plus air cleaner. Any thoughts? Also, I am weighing V & H Power Shots vs. the Jugs...heard great things about both. And, are the Rienhardt staggards worth the price? I got a few brains and money to burn.....

I've got the Power Shots on a 2005 Silverado along with the BAK. I like the sound and looks personally. A friend just installed the Rhinehardt staggers and they really look sharp. Have a great sound too. I don't think you can go wrong with either. It's more a matter of personal choice. The Rhinehardts give you a real clean and minimal sort of look. The Power Shots are a little more bulky and may be a little louder than the Rhinehardts at lower speeds.

Hey RR. I like the money to burn thing but if you were sort of half kidding and money is somewhat of an issue let me say this-I did the stage 1 exhaust mod and wasn't happy with the rumble. Then did stage 2 and got considerably more decibles and a nice tone out of my stock pipes but still not as loud as an aftermarket set of tubes are. I didn't do stage 3 for lack of a really long drill bit which are kind of pricey but some people say there is a difference from 2 to 3. All, or at least most of the gurus I've talked to like the BAK for performance and on pipes I think its more of a personal choice on looks. Just remember if you change your intake you'll definitely need to rejet if you havn't already but you dont need to with the stock pipe stage 2 mod. Good luck with whatever you decide bro.
