This thread tells you how to reset the fuel gauge also. That may cure your problem. Good luck!

rticWolf!

My 06 does the same thing, it's just slow after a fill up, but after I get a mile down the road it's at the full mark, I figure it's normal. Sounds like on the other thread some have had problems and sticking, my fuel light has never blinked unless it's almost empty and/or one time I forgot to plug the wires back in when I had my tank off.

The fuel gauge on these bikes are made NOT to move while driving. I'm sure your all familiar with that.Going around curves, hitting the brakes, taking off, always makes the gas gauge move. The Roadie has a delay built in to it. It will be a little slow to come up when you fill it, But wont move after that for the above reasons.
If it starts "not reading right", ..never goes all the way to full, crazy reading while your driving, stays on empty for 20 miles after fill up, then you'll soon be needing a new sending unit. Some Roadie's are prone to that. Must be the Chrysler parts they use. It acts like my old charger.

Yes..

Fueled up just after I bought my bike and wondered why the guage didnt register even after driving a few blocks....arriving at home ..phoned the dealer...

The dealer said to drive for a mile or two and she would be okay..

sure enough after a bit of a drive .... up to full...

been that way ever since...

Glad to know why.. thanks... blackroadie

my 2003 is the same as well. Takes about a mile or so to show full after a fill-up.

It bugged me also when I took it home the first day and filled it. Took off down the road and looked down and was pi#@# that my gauge didnt work. It's nice actually having an acurate reading while your driving around town, stop and start, etc.
