why is it that 96 cubic in and 95 cub harley heritages go faster than the roadstar, i would assume its gearing but wouldnt the extra cc make up for it.

None of the stock 88`s (with stage One) I`ve run again`st can keep up with my RD*.I top out at about 115MPH(always seem to run out of room)and much quicker out of the gate Wouldn`t think a ninety five or 96 either would be fasterHave you raced one and is your`s a 98 or 102 incher?

mines a 102 but it seems like the gearing is lower which would make them faster and all the guys with the harleys that i ride with say they eat the roadstars up i will be running this friday if i win i get dinner at ruth chris but will have to wait and see...... a couple of guys with harleys used to have roadies but they said there two slow...... the say a heritage with stage one will wipe the floor with them......

If you put comprable mods on both ie. air, ignition, and pipes, I havn't seen hardly tail lights that I can ever remember. Although I have had a lot of comments about the ole' moustash tail light assembly on my 2000 R*
rev master, ported intake, samson thunder slip ons, jetted carb, gravity fuel feed, no AIS, Kur Hyper-charger
and a lot of new rear tires. Good luck this weekend hold-on Dearman

I think you might surprize them Fitchottie All the guys I ride with
ride RDkings or Ultra Classics except for two soft tails. All but one has the harley stage one&remap. Mine`s air kit, pipes and jetting Plus I`ve added weight with things like my Hard bags and crome.
Just make sure they let ya know if they`ve added cams and such.

Sporster is a whole nother world the 1200 is a fast bike and if it has been mod'd watch out!
I beat an Ultra with stageIII with my R* and kept even with a Dyna night train with stage II
course I have:
31 tooth pulley
BAK
V&H Powershots
Dyna 3000
no AIS

If I just had pipes no way!

IMHO

According to a recent Cycle World mag the 1200 Sportster puts out 71 h.p. stock, and they're much lighter than a R*. Choose your battles wisely.
