06 Road* Reliable In 125 Degree Heat??? 5 Years, 7 Months ago
You bet your sweet Backside it is. Just wanted to let everyone know how dependable and reliable this 1700cc beast really is. Just got back from a week long vacation out at NV/CA border (Stateline ,Primm Valley). Well going through Death Valley (Baker, Where the worlds largest Thermometer is) it was 125 degrees and I was doing 85-90MPH. No carb boil over no excessive engine heat and normal valve train noise. Of course I had all of the above. While staying at Stateline the Avg. temp was 110 degrees all week. We went on several rides in this heat and bike performed great the whole time. Of course I was sucking down gallons of water and Propel. I got to admit it really sucks riding in that kind of heat. I am still trying to figure out which is worse (wind chill in the cold or heat wind index in the heat). Either way they both suck rotten eggs. Take care Ride Safe and God Bless. Mike
