Crash Bar Help! 4 Years, 2 Months ago
Hello Everyone! Going to be Picking up my 04' midnight Silverado in just 3 days! First thing I would like to purchase for it is a crash bar. Have narrowed it down to the Yami Big Bar, or the Cobra bars. Not the fat ones! My question for those of you with either of these, is 1, will they both accept 3 inch floorboard extensions?? as I will do this later, and 2, What is the width of the Yami bar, and th Cobra. In pics I've seen on the net, the cobra's look a little wider. Thanks for any help, and hope the weather is treating everyone well for riding!!!

Congrats on the silverado,
The yami big bar will accept the 3 inch extensions,
not sure about the cobra,I havnt seen one on a bike to know.
Lindby bars will also work and I have the info on how to get them to work with the extensions, That is whats on mine. I also make the extensions that are in the classifieds.

Thanks for the info billjr! By the way, I have seen floorboard mounts that not only extend but raise up a bit. Do your mounts raise? I'm trying to stay away from that as I'm 6'3'' and can use all the leg room I can get!!! Anyone else who can give me info!! Would love if anyone could post a few pics from the front of the bike of cobra and yami big bars...
Thanks...

If you decide to buy a crash bar I have a brand new Cobra Bar exactly what your looking for and I'm going to remove due to the fact that I'm changing to a harley road king bar. I'm doing this cause I want to put lower fairings on. The bar has flip out foot rests also.I purchased it about 3 1/2 weeks ago.I would be willing to sell it for $100.00 plus the cost of shipping. Excellant condition. And I would only charge you what it will cost me to have it shipped and I can get a fairly good price on UPS through my wife. Let me know

The issue you will have with the extensions and an engine guard is the the rear brake stuff will be in the way if you don't want to tilt the boards. At least with the Yami big bar like I have. I'm 6' 3" and the tilt feels great to me. I feel like my feet are more planted on the boards. My exts are 3 inch.

My extensions tilt to what angle you want, they are not a fixed position.

Hey Everyone! Am still looking if anybody can help me out with the widths on both the Yami Big Bar, and the Cobra Bars. I'm looking for the wider of the two bars! It looks to me like the Cobras extend past the floorboards, and the Yami ones are a little in from the boards! Can anyone help with this, and possibly give me some measurements! Thanks all!!!!
