Has anyone traded or thought about trading their cast wheels for spoked ones? Lately I've been thinking that my bike would look better with spoked wheels on it. I've never been crazy about the style of the cast wheels anyway........

Just be aware that the stock spoke suck real bad. They are poorly plated and the plating comes off if you look at it sideways.

I prefer the cast wheels, no spokes to tighten up. I was thinking of getting me a chromed set for the bike with new tires.

I like the spoke wheels, for me, the biggest drawback is the fact that they have a tube in them, which makes it a lot harder to repair a flat...And Doc's correct, the chrome leaves a little to be desired...

Cast have got to be the more practical option. Tubeless and easy to clean. I like the spoked wheels though - they look great with the Whitewalls and suit the retro style of my bike. Personally I'm willing to put up with the drawbacks.

I like the looks of the spokes. If I was going get away from spokes I'd put something like Doc's.

My spokes are still good, mind you they're only 1 summer old.

Not meaning to hijack the thread but will harley wheels fit ours or is it a pain in the ?

and are they better quality?

my bikes spokes are covered in years of oxidized crud and they will never really be clean, serious pain in the arse to clean up!! But spokes just look so darn good!

I would rather have cast because getting a flat on the road with spokes is a real pain, wheres my center stand now. It has happened a few times with my xs 1100 over the years but was not a problem because i had a center stand to lift the bike.
Always looking for a set of cast wheels for the R* on ebay and the bone yards.

Hi Bushr, from what I can tell, the wheels are pretty decent chrome, it's the spokes that are what I would call dull..I'm not even sure they have chrome on them..but in any case, there are after market spokes that look alot better, I kinda like those twisted ones..
