Well, there was this girl I met at a bar.... Oh you meant bikes!

Favorite bike to date (I have already listed them) Still has to be the Honda Shadow 1100. I like this roadie alot, and if it serves me as well as the old shadow, it will be my fav. Only time will tell.

My First Bike...In 1981 I bought a Kawasaki LTD 440 while I was in the service(Air Force) in Arkansas. When I picked up the bike, I didn't even know how to ride a motorcycle. I drove that bike back and forth to Connectcut. On my second ride back in 1983 The engine seized while riding in Virginia. I had the bike towed and never saw it again. Bad times back then. I didn't have the resources to get it back home. It would have cost more to fix than the bike was worth. That was sad times:>(((

My second bike was a used 1981 Yamaha 750 Virago. I drove that bike all over the northeast. I had an accident with it and sold it for parts.

My third bike was a 1985 Yamaha Virago 1000. I customized it with a paint job and Cobra slash cut pipes. Beautiful bike. I loved it. That bike lasted me until last year. I had it for 22 years before I sold it to get my present bike. That bike is still running.

My present bike is a 2007 Roadstar Silverado. Blue and Silver. Awesome bike. I could have bought any bike I wanted. Harley Fatboy didn't do it for me. All other bikes I rode missed the mark. As soon as I test drove the Roadstar, I had gone less than two miles and I knew that was the bike for me. I never turned back and never regreeted my choice. The Roadstar is an AWESOME bike. I plan on having this one for a loooonggg time.

Lets hear it boys....

Joe.

Re:What bikes have you owned? 8 Months, 2 Weeks ago
(cue up the music please..................Memories.....Light the corners of my mind ...... Misty water-colored memories ......... Of the way we were........ )

My first ride was a used Honda CT70 - man I was baaaaaad! After a couple of years I graduated to a Yamaha (<-yeah!) 80. I lived in town and road them all around my house for hours & hours (on a city lot, mind you!). Man, when I think about that now, I realize how the neighbors must have hated that!

In 1977, when I was 18 I was all set to buy a Honda 250 Elsinore when my appendix sh*t the bed. No workie - no $$$ - no motorcycle.

In 1982 while in the USAF stationed in Austin TX (best placed I've ever lived, btw) I bought a brand new Suzuki 550 Katana - probably my favorite bike I've owned; just because of the time/place/etc in my life. That was my ONLY new bike and I had her til I transfered to Valdosta GA in 1984. There I picked up a used 85 or 86 500 Interceptor (man I wanted that 750.....but the 500 was all I could afford as a lowly Sgt )

I sold that and went 14 years bikeless until I bought my '02 RS Warrior in 2004. What a sweet ride - nice transition from sport bikes to a cruiser (I had no idea what kind of bike I wanted after such a long time away). Sold that last fall and was certain I'd go this year bikeless. Most guys I work with have bikes and as soon as they started talking about their's and the upcoming season I was done. I started "just looking" at want ads.......soon I was scouring everything: newspapers, internet - you name it! I shopped everywhere - stopped at every local dealer for weeks until found my '05 RoadStar Midnight on Craigslist. I picked her up last week and can't wait to get her out & about.

Ahhhhhhh, that was nice....... Thanks for indulging my trip down two-wheel memory lane, fellas!

The Roadie is my first Bike at 40 years old, I am buying a second Bike, a 2001 Sportster 1200 for around town riding, lighter and easier to handle. I did ride my dads bike when I was a teen, he had a 1974 Norton 850 Commando, Right side Shift, that was a nice bike, Candy Red, I never had my own bike until last year and now I got the fever, I love it!

Re:What bikes have you owned? 8 Months, 2 Weeks ago
It all started with a mini bike when I was around 12, then when I was sixteen I graduated to a 1974 Yamaha 500, next was a 1978 kawasaki 650, my next bike was crazy fast compared to my other bikes, it was a 1984 Suzuki Gs 1150 ES. After the Suzuki I went for five or six years without a bike, then I bought a stripped down 1981 1100 Goldwing, I had it for one year and then bought a 1991 Harley heritage softail classic next I bought a 2004 Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 and finally this winter I bought a 2003 Yamaha Roadstar silverado special edition, I haven't had a chance to ride the roadie yet because of all the snow,as a matter of fact it is snowing right now, but if it rides as good as it looks, its a keeper.
