You also got fresh rings to go with that recall, so give the motor a little bit of break in time when you get it back , and change the oil at the 600 mile mark. Couple thoughts, BB.

It's only for the 1600's. 99 - 03. No recalls on your bike. You can breath now .

THANKS, Musky!

Sorry if the panicky beeatch came out of me when I posted my question. I had flashbacks to my Warrior tranny recall & the UNavailability of the parts for it when I first got that bike. The thought of that tranny letting go and that big 200 rear tire locking up was never off my mind for the two months I had to wait to get my recall kit. NOT the most enjoyable way to re-enter biking after a 14 year layoff

Re:Recall done - pick up tomorrow 8 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Picked up the bike today. I cranked it up, didn't seem to run right. Then, when I put it in gear, it died, 2 or 3 times. Went 30 feet back to the shop. They rolled it in. They guy who washed it after service, apparently ran the hose all over the BAK. Techs took it out twice to try to dry it out. About an hour later, I was on my way.

After about 20 miles, pulled into J&P Cycles, took a look and saw a line of oil had dripped out of the rear cylinder. (Also got to meet mulerider17 and see his awesome '06 midnight.) The bike also seemed to run a little rougher, even louder. So I rode another 50 mi or so, then right back to the dealer.

There was no denying the oil leaking and there was a definite hesitation at low rpm. I left it for the rest of the afternoon. Dealer said they didn't touch the carb, but they would check it out and tweak if needed, no cost.

I picked it up at 6:00 pm and rode another 25-30 mi. No more oil showing, and it is running much smoother. Dealer thinks the oil may have been residual from recall work and raised the needle a bit in the carg. Said to keep an eye out for further oil leak and will fix it if it continues. Hopefully, it won't run too rich now.

That's my story so far. Sorry for the long post, but it was a long day.

Wish we had more time to talk, but what a day to ride. The best part was my wife sent to Daytona to spend money on my bike. Looked but did not find anything.
Wish you the best
Steve
