got to the pilot jet.....still got issues 2 Years, 4 Months ago
I just don't get it......I got the carb apart and cleaned up, adjusted the float level to where it should be. Rode it yesterday, ran fine. Ride it today, back to the same problems I had before. Bogs down on takeoff and just about dies. I'm too mentally exhausted to tear it apart again. Thanks Doc, Vegasdave, and Musky for trying to help me, but I think it's time to leave it at the dealer and let them sort it out.

I think mybe you could try adjusting the Accelerator duration screw. All you have to do is take the air cleaner off. It's right on the front of the carb. There is how to in the tech tips under carbs. At least read through it. I hate to see you get beat after you've gone this far.

Post edited by: Musky, at: 2006/07/10 13:26

Ok Musky...I will tinker with the accelerator pump screw. Seems plenty easy to do, and maybe I'll be able to salvage my dignity that way

I called it the pump screw, I meant to say the duration screw. Sorry.

Well Musky.......I played with the accelerator pump duration screw. I thought I had it beat finally. Got on it, pulled onto the road.....same damn problem, like it's fighting for dear life to stay alive. I appreciate your positive reinforcement but I've thrown the towel. The next time I ride it will be to take it to the dealer.
