hk 3" big straights and passenger floorboards 5 Years, 10 Months ago
I'm thinking about buying some Hard Krome 3" Straight shots for my 2004 Silverado. I was wondering if there's any install conflict between these big diameter pipes and the Yamaha Passenger Floorboards.

It's an issue because if I lose the boards, my better half might not be so nice about the money I spend all the time.

Any info from anyone on this. Oh, my alternates are the HK 2.75 or the Vance and Hines Longshots HS. The same info on those pipes is welcome also.

jmonette,
I am pretty sure that I saw an 05 with passenger floorboards and 3" pipes a week or so back, can't tell you if the guy had to make any changes though. I'm not sure if there's any difference on the 04? I definitely agree about the "better half's comfort," especially when it comes to a guy spendin' his (wife's) money!

I have the Hard Khrome 3" sideburners on my '02 Silverado along with the passenger boards and I have no problem. Everything bolted up sweet. The only problem I have is, everywhere I stop someone has to come up and comment on how great my motorcycle looks. Not that I mind so much, but my wife keeps asking me, "Where do you know all these women from?"

Thanks for the info...I just know that if my wife said that to me..I'd just have to say..well someone has to ride when you're at work....

Shouldn't have bought the pipes...oh well..they'll make a nice sound when my bro-in-law ride it to my funeral...

I have the V&H longshots HS on my 2005 with the passenger floor boards and everything fits nice. The pipes pass under the boards without any problems.

Ok, here is the scoop. Today I installed the HK 3" big straights. They do not interfere with the passenger floorboards. WOW, they sound awesome. They were hard to install though.

Hope this helps,

Kevin
