How much will this method lower the bike? 4 Years, 1 Month ago
This is a link that I found about lowering your bike without removing the rear tire or splash guard. It appears that you are basically just fliping that arm thing around the opposite direction. Is that correct? and by doing this how much is the bike lowered?

That's right, just flip the arm thing around. I did mine and I think it lowered the rear about 1 1/2 inches although I did not measure anything. You must grind quite a bit of the arm thing off in order for it to fit back when flipped. Good luck.

Once you grind on it and for whatever reason decide to flip it back around, would that arm still work or would you have to buy a new one?

There is no reason you couldn't flip it back.

The flip is reversable.

I have done two of these and I think that it was far easier "for me" to just go ahead and pull the rear wheel. It gave me much better axcess and ended up saving time. You will have to adjust belt tension any way. It lowered both of these just under 3" Dearman

Is 3" too low for carrying a passenger?

Lowering the bike 3"?

It's best to get a stiffer spring .... about 1000 lb. That should help to prevent the bike from bottoming out.

Well I was just looking at the other guys reply and it was just under 3 inches. This method would be a lot cheaper but I may just by the adjustable links from bms and then lower the whichever amount that I like.

The dogbone method is better as it maintains the correct suspension geometry.

The flip is good 'cause you get to try it out to see if you like a lowered bike ..... and it's free.
