Throttle "palm" Lever 5 Years, 1 Month ago
Curious if anyone has used one of them throttle "palm levers" (not sure what you really call them) as opposed to a cruise control. Have seen them at some bike shows. Any recommendations? Seem like they'd be good to use to give the ole' hands a stretch!

I believe it's called a throttle boss. I had one but I didn't like it for everyday riding. I found it to be more a pain than anything. But I've heard others swear by them.

I carry one in my saddle bags. On long rides they are pretty nice. Let you relax your hand. you have to play with the position to get it just right. I dont like it in town. Gets in the way. but on the open road its fine.

I got one and like it. Yes you can open your hand and cruise along with it on the palm and let the blood flow to the fingers.

I have two of them they are the LARGE throttle bosses and I love mine in town and on the highway. You open your fingers and lay them on the levers and let your palm rest on the bosses and you still have good control of the bike without taking your hands off the bars. My hands used to go numb after a few miles I don't have any problem any more. I bought a cruse control and didn't like it with these I have complete control all the time.

Yes, the throttle boss is nice. The one I have is a big plastic palm throttle. It snaps on and off the bike. The way it mounts makes it cumbersome in town.

My Kury, like Curt's is great. I only use one on the right side though. It doesn't get in the way ever and couldn't imagine owning a bike without one.

I carry the throttle rocker in my saddle bag for use on trips also.
Then got a vista-cruise and really like it.

Thanks guys.... appreciate the feedback. Think there is one in my future. Like curt mentioned, the right hand gets numb after riding a while. Think I'd use it primarily on longs trips. Will take a look at some of those you've recommended.
