New pipes. To jet or not to jet 7 Years, 8 Months ago
I have a bone stock 03 Silverado. I have a set of Cobra Classic Slash Cuts coming any day now. Will I have to re-jet with just a pipe change? I would like to do the intake, air cleaner, AIS mods in the near future but right now I just want to change for sound. Will I get away with just a easy switch-out.

Post edited by: 03RSrob, at: 2004/09/16 19:43

Depends how free-flowing the pipes are. Usualy with just pipes most don't need to be re-jetted.

At best you will probably only need to adjust the PMS in a bit.

No rejetting needed. I ran stock exhaust for 5000 miles, Samson Rolled Thunder slip-ons for the next 20,000, and have a few hundred on my new HK 3" Big Straights, and still haven't touched the original carb settings. Haven't adjusted a thing in there at all. Still running the stock airbox.

I'll second Doc's advice...with just pipes you wont have to re-jet...when you add the air kit you will have to.
