Best Mods to Increase HP 4 Years, 1 Month ago
Hey Fellow Roadies,

I am looking at some mods to increase the HP. Any Ideas? General consensus is usually BAK and some new pipes. I love the HK 3" ResTech's but not sure on the BAK. I will do the BAK this year and the Pipes next year due to cash flow. I know I should just do both togather and rejet the carb but some things have to wait. Also I am reluctant to rejet my carb beacuse I haven't done it ever. I don't want to screw up my ride.

Thanks

Joe

I don't think any one thing will make a big difference, but rather the combination of pipes/BAC/ign mod.. all together, they work hand in hand with each other...but you have to start somewhere...

well the CHEAPEST kick in the butt would be a 31tooth front pulley About $160 or so from Barons.

Then get pipes (cause you don't HAVE to jet) then BAK, and FREEBIE Port the manifold and rejet, Then Dyna 3000 raises the rev limiter so you can blow the doors off those Harleys Then you get into the engine and serious $$$$

IMHO

I wouldn't bother putting the BAK on until you have the pipes and are ready to jet. My op anywho.

I have a BAK, vance and hines longshots, and a barons ported intake. With these mods there is a very noticable difference over stock. Next I will get the ignition.

YOU COULD START BY OPENING UP THE STOCK PIPES AND AIR BOX.TIPS TO DO SO ARE IN HERE. K&N FILTER AND PORT THE MANIFOLD.
ONLY THE COST OF FILTER AND PORTING TOOLS. AND GIVES YOU EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH THE PARTS WHILE SAVING FOR NEW PIECES OR EBAY.

HYPERCHARGERS ARE GOOD FILTERS AS WELL AS THE BAK.

  • I am wanting to get a BAK and was wondering what you all are running and what the general opinion is for best for the money...
  • I am running bone stock except Khrome Werks slip-on's. '07 Midnight.
