May be selling my roadie 5 Years, 10 Months ago
I'm thinking about selling my bike by next spring....with about 24000-25000 miles on and all the accessories listed below. If you have any questions about it or if you are interested, feel free to email me at chuck7772@hotmail.com I will more than likely really start trying to sell it by the fall unless someone offers a good price between now and then. Serious inquiries please.

Well, after this last trip I was on last week, I became hooked on the traveling by motorcycle. Therefore thinking about going to a Royalstar Tour Deluxe. I'm kinda liking the liquid cooling as well as the electronic cruise control. I love my Roadie I have now, and if I could, I would keep it and get my touring ride and still keep beefing up the roadie and use it as a bar hopper. It will be hard parting with my roadie, but oh well.

Your gonna miss the massive torque of the Roadie Man! That Royal Star is a nice comfy bike, with more HP but the Torque specs were not that up to snuff for me. (I guess I just like a slower runnin' tractor type engine that'll pull a house of it's foundation at 2000 RPM, instead of screamin WOT) That was my main reason for buying a Roadie and not a Royal Star, ....IF ONLY a Royal had the Roadie engine!!! But, everyone should ride what he himself likes best, right?

Re:May be selling my roadie 5 Years, 9 Months ago
Just wanted to tell you my experience. I had a 2002 Royal Star Venture which is just like the Delux motor wise and I liked to listen to the radio and the electronic cruise going down the road. There were a couple things I did not like. First is the clutch has a loud wine to it. I took it to Yamaha and had a new clutch backet put in it this spring. It did not make any difference. I was very upset with this noise. Second is the V4 motor. I have always been use to the torque of a Vtwin. I bought this bike last Oct. and put 12000 miles on it before I traded it in. I never could get use to have to really get on the throttle and open it up to get the horsepower out of it. It has power but you have to really rev it up to get the power. I went thru Wyoming the begining of July. I could not get use to the power and the clutch noise and called my wife and said that I was trading it before I got home. I stopped at a local Yamaha dealer I bought a new Road Star. Boy what a difference to get back to torque and not having to rev to get power. Everybody likes something different but I just could not get use to the Royal Star.

Hey thanks guys for the reply for the info....I finally took a royal star for a ride the other day, and boy it is a real nice bike....I really like the electronic cruise, and the over all profile of the tour deluxe. Although, I did find, just like you guys said, that it didn't provide the low end torque that my roadie has. So I decided not to sell my roadie for another couple years, that is unless somebody makes a good offer of course. So again, thanks for your guys' replies. I appreciate it.
