Passenger pegs too high!!!!!! 7 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I finally got my wife on the bike to go for a ride, only tofind out the pegs for the passenger sit way too high, borderline on crotch rocket style. I do not know if they have been moved or if they are just that high right out of the box, but was way uncomfortable for her. Anyone have ideas for mods or anything to make it better????

you can switch the two mounts so the left is on the right and so on, they will be upside down so you pull out the pin and flip the peg over and reinstall the pin and they will be lower, there is a tech article about it i believe

You can flip them on a Roadstar but not with stock pipes. Tried it with my stockers to no avail. Got new pipes (Samson Classics - ride lower than stock) and it worked just fine. Here's the link. http://roadstarclinic.com/content/view/80/107/

I found the article, and it might work, as I have Vance & hines Longshots. But it says, "V&H Longshots (with longer bolts and spacers) ". What do I need to make this work?

What is HK 3"? I assume you are speaking of the Vance & Hines Long Shots. I have looked at it too, and do not see any way it will work. I will probably have to have pegs faricated. Has anyone found a simple bolt on solution?

Iowa,
HK 3"= Hard Krome 3".....

As for the footpeg flip; A simple, bolt-on solution; yes. Cheap; no...
Thats not to say there aren't cheaper passenger floorboards out there (there are), this is just what I ended up with. The floorboards and mounts are made by Rivco and set me back about $280 shipped.....but they are beautiful!! (I think.)

The first pic is before the pipe change; running Roadhouse slip-ons.

Second pic is after, running the Hard Krome 3" Dual Sideburners;

The flip was pretty simple. Just unbolted the floorboards from the mounts, unbolted and flipped the mounts 180 degrees (didn't switch sides) and reattached the boards. Doing this lowered the boards about 2" and moved them forward about an inch. Rivco also sells an adapter arm that attaches to the mount that is adjustable, which, if I remember right, allows for up to 3" of adjustment both down and forward.

In The Wind,
Aaron

Re:Passenger pegs too high!!!!!! 7 Months, 2 Weeks ago
here's something you can do. My wife found that the stock height for the rear footpegs way to high as well. I did the flip(right to left)but left the bracket pointed up (sort of) I did drill another hole in the bracket. it only lowered the peg about 1 inch but brought it forward about 31/2. that is a big part of the problem. now she's laid back and relaxed. she's asking for a larger back rest now. (I think she's trying to take a nap)easy to do, a little bit of measuring and a drill press.
