Where can I find a 2007 Road Star 5 Years, 10 Months ago
Does anyone know of any dealers in the south-east that have 2007 Road Stars. I am looking to buy a 2007 Road Star with the Silverado package. Two dealers I have contacted in the Tampa, FL area tell me they will not have them until this Fall. I called Yamaha - USA corporate offices and the guy I spoke with stated that according to the information, the Road Star's have been delivered to some dealers but he could not tell which ones.

I am looking to purchase a 2007 Road Star Silverado by early August

Here's a dealer locator. You could start close to you and work your way out. Most should have 800 numbers or email. Hopefully someone here will tell you they saw one close to you.

Thanks, Musky. That was going to be my next step if I can't get any info from anyone else.

FYI - nice 2006 you have. That was what I was looking to purchase until I saw the new colors on the 2007, besides at least 2 of the 3 closest dealers do not and will not have any 2006's.

I was thinking. Ask the dealer to set it up. If you choose the color and options and pay for the bike I don't see why Yamaha can't ship it to the dealer. They should be happy to do it. "Should" being the possible catch in the plan. Or did you try that?

Thanks! First white bike I ever had. Never been attracted to the color. Don't know why I was this time. But I'm happy I was.

Post edited by: Musky, at: 2006/07/25 10:47

Musky, Thanks you your suggestion to look outside of my area. I broadened my search to the southeast US and found a 2007 Road Star Sivlerado in Hamilton, AL the even shiiped it to northern FL where I picked it up today. The people Motor Sports Super Store in Hamilton, AL were great. I was able to get my bike for $2000 less (including the shipping) than what the local dealer was going to charge me for a 2006. Unfortunately, FL DMV is not open today so I can't get it licensed till Monday

Next comes the daunting task on what mods to make to it first...

Glad it all worked out for you. Feel bad for having to see it sitting there and can't ride it. You might want to take some pics of it now so you can remember what it used to look like. Most bikes don't stay stock for long . And then you can post a pic here and we can see what you got. The first thing I would do is put some distance rides on it. Not cross country but at least an hour or more non stop. Your backside will let you know if the stock seat is going to work. And your arms and shoulders will let you know if you might want risers. You also might find you want floorboard extensions. At least that's the way I like to go with a new bike. Get it to fit me and be comfortable is my high priority. Then I can start the fun stuff

Of course I might start on the fun stuff before I find the right comfort piece but at least I know what I need.

Post edited by: Musky, at: 2006/08/05 21:27
